Press release Trauwert GmbH Interbrush Freiburg, Germany (long version)
A cut above the rest
The Göppingen-based company Trauwert GmbH brings innovation to brush, broom and paintbrush production with their pioneering clipper trimmers.
Brushes, brooms and paintbrushes must be cut accurately and precisely if they are to optimally serve their purpose. The young and dynamic company Trauwert GmbH from Göppingen has developed just the cutting tool for the job: an innovative roller bearing-mounted clipper trimmer that significantly outperforms conventional trimmers both in terms of cutting quality and service life.
Among the disadvantages of conventional trimmers, is that mechanical friction generates heat, which leads to increased wear. This reduces the service life of the cutting tool, which works similarly to an electric razor, and means that the shearing blades require frequent changing. Simon Siewert and Jürgen Traub solved this problem with a pioneering solution: They invented a high-precision roller bearing-mounted linear guideway, which allows the Trauwert clipper trimmer to operate with zero clearance and without causing mechanical wear of the shear blades when idle. Since the shear blades are not in direct contact with each other, they also do not develop any heat - which prevents thermal distortion. This not only ensures consistent and superior cutting quality, but also gives the brush manufacturing machine an extended service life.
The Trauwert clipper trimmer is virtually maintenance-free, requires no adjustment work and operates extremely smoothly and quietly. It is suitable for high speeds and long strokes, is available in several widths (100, 150 and 200 millimetres plus teeth) and can be ground several times. With its well above-average service life, the roller bearing-mounted clipper trimmer contributes to efficiency and reduced costs in the brush, broom and paintbrush industries.
Company owners Simon Siewert and Jürgen Traub met 2001 in Göppingen at their former employer, the internationally acclaimed grinding technology manufacturer, Jung. There, their work included roller bearing solutions for machine axes and complex, high-precision component assembly. The trained tool mechanic Jürgen Traub was also responsible for precision grinding the machine bearings. Then, industrial mechanic Simon Siewert changed employers and was responsible for assembling and setting up automatic bristle tufting machines at a leading global brush manufacturer. It was during this time that he became aware of the problems associated with conventional cutting tools.
In 2009, Simon Siewert and Jürgen Traub took their combined professional experience on an entrepreneurial journey and founded their own company – Trauwert GmbH. One of the cornerstones of their company was the invention and development of their innovative clipper trimmer. But their range of services also includes extremely accurate, µ-precision grinding along with services in surface and profile grinding technology. The Swabian pioneers share high standards in quality, precision and the relevant expertise. They have also proven without a doubt that Swabian ingenuity, which they used in developing their roller bearing-mounted clipper trimmers, has revolutionised the brush industry.
